Hi,

I have a problem, which is calling plan for skype. I have followed the dial plan given in 3cx tutorials which tell me to give a,b,c,d.........z in the field nos. starting with prefix. The only problem is how to dial it from a cordless phone since it will only pass numeric values and skype contacts are alphabets.

I also read in another post that we can write the skype contact in speed dial of the ATA, but that does not work. As soon as you choose the outbound rule for skype, the ata speed dial does not work.

Example:- Outbound rule in 3cx is set to prefix 2
strip digits - 1 , as soon 2 is dialed the call is routed through skype, but it does not understand speed dial 2 for the ata, resulting in time out error.

If i am using a softphone then everything works fine that is outgoing to skype contacts.

Please help me,

My setting are 3cx-->extn 101 configured on spa2102--> panasonic cordless phone

Thanks,

The basic problem is that you cannot dial with a-z and other alpha characters.

One way around it is to setup up dummy extensions, and then forward to your desired skype ID. For example, I have an extension 205, so that if you dial 205 from an extension, it routes to the Skype echo test. For version 9 you have to enter "divert if busy or not registered" in the forward when available tab, as if course it will not be registered.

I hope that makes sense.
Kind regards
