Skype outgoing calls?

Hi,

You should just be able to set this up in the outbound rules. If you want to be sure it works create the rule for the whole number and put the rule at the top

For example the external number is 1-987-234-5678 so do the following

Rule name: external19872345678
Calls to numbers starting with: 19872345678
From extention: leave blank
Calls to number with a length: leave blank

Complete the appropriate route information including whether any digits need to be stripped or pre-pended

Hi,

I have read all of this thread and it has been very helpful. However, I am new to this IP PBX and the 3CXPhone softphone and I can't find how to setup speed dials either on the 3CXPhone or on the system (and I am not quite sure which is correct to be able to dial out to Skype). I am probably being very stupid but please could someone advise how to setup these speed dials so that I can dial a Skype user with an alpha user name. Many thanks.

On 3CXPhone, Xlite and other softphones you don't need speeddials since, being "soft"phones, you can type any character you want.
On hardphones, speeddials are very useful indeed, but setting them are model-specific. Basically, from your computer, you should logon into their configuration menu, and there - if supported - in a speeddial type the outbound rule and the skype account or phone number you want.
