We love 3CX so much that we have an Enterprise license for little reason other than supporting a truly awesome product and my business is now all-in on 3CX. It's become the beating heart of our business.

But the attitude in these forums from the 3CX team towards SMS and sending SMS addressed only in E164 smacks of a ton of we-know-better-than-you-isim.

I live in a country, Australia, where few people store phones numbers in contacts in E164, and everybody and *every website* uses the same local format (similar to landline numbers) of 04######### ie a prefix of 04 followed by 8 digits totalling 10 digits.

We have 3500 such mobile numbers stored in local format in our CRM, my staff have hundreds in each of their M365 address books and every website in the country will have landline and mobile numbers in the same non-E164 format. If someone sees 04######## then everyone in the country knows they can SMS it.

And so.....

Last weekend I ported the mobiles numbers for the first 3 of our sales staff fully into 3CX via our SIP provider and turned their mobiles to being data-only. And now hundreds of their contacts need to be manually prefixed with +61 and the zero erase every time they initiate an SMS.

This is ridiculous. And you can't tell me that in the US or other non-EMEA or non-SEA countries etc that employees know what E164 is let-alone actually store customer phone numbers in their CRM in that format.

See the attached pic for a snapshot of our employee address book in 3CX (these are all public numbers). Any Australian will look at this list and from decades of social training, instantly know they are all mobiles and can be SMS'd. And now you want me to go ruin that training by polluting them all with '+61'.

3CX you need to listen to the threads on this issue. I am your *biggest* advocate in my company for your awesome product but in this case you've embarrassed me hugely with your ignorance of how some countries use phone-number sequences as a business tool and as a trigger of social behaviours.

In this country phone numbers in the format 04######## instinctively means a real human is likely to answer quicker than a landline, it has valuable social merit and so you see mobiles strategically used on billboards, websites etc

And so it's incredibly unreasonable of you to think I'm going to get my staff to manually go through 5000+ contacts and change all mobile numbers to be stored in E164 after decades of business procedures dictating storing in the local 10digit format.
