First, I want to thank 3CX --- I just tested the Twilio SMS integration and it works great and was easy to setup and use.

Previously, I had built a custom web application to handle SMS/text messages for my customers using Twilio. I like the 3cx solution as it is one less server I need to maintain and now sms works directly in the 3cx iphone app and webclient.

One feature my customers really like about the custom solution I built, is that sms/mms messages are also send via email which contained a button to reply from their computer. I assume with 3CX this could just open the webclient to the chat page. The message is included in the body of the email (with any pictures) and they can save the message with their normal client communications in their email client --- which makes it easier to find in the future. Many of my customers can type faster on their computer than on their phones.

Some of my clients mute their cell phones during the day for productivity. Others don't install the 3CX app at all. In those cases, they would not notice that someone sent them a text without being logged into the webclient (which most don't stay logged into). The majority of my clients still use a physical desk phone and email as their primary means of communication. By receiving the email notice, it allows them to quick response to a text when otherwise they might miss it completely.

Any ideas?

Hi @loyer,

Currently this is not supported and as you mentioned the web client is the way to go so I think this one belongs to the Ideas section of the forum.
You could install the chrome extension to your clients PCs which will give them a notification even if the webclient is closed.

The chrome extension is a good idea.... thanks.
