Since the original thread was locked, I'm starting a new one on the same topic.

@nick: you probably don't remember me but we meet many years ago at a trade show in Las Vegas. So my ask is could you please revert back to the Update 4 method of implementing / managing SMS or bring back the same flexibility into Update 6? There are many business use cases where inbound routing of SMS needs to be different than a phone call. Small examples, a business that wants an IVR for incoming calls...what happens to incoming SMS messages? I get the idea of simplifying and improving, but what you had before was easy to setup, manage, and flexible; overall, well done.

As a 12+ year 3CX partner, would love to get it back to the way it was.

Thanks,
Anthony

@matrix3 Yes i do remember and i hope you are well.

SMS has to be configured from the trunk and the routes of calls have to be the same. Its not going to change.
I have explained it several times.

If anybody wants to get a full refund of their license I am happy to give this refund personally. Either to a customer that recently bought or a partner that has multiple recent purchases. You could have two months free subscription to find another product before we cancel the license.

Totally fine with it being configured at the trunk level. But what our clients are asking for is the ability to route incoming SMS differently then how incoming calls are routed. Could we maybe have a check-box on the inbound DID rule (like how there is one for different business hours) to allow different inbound routing for SMS?

Not looking for any kind of refund. A major part of our focus and business is 3CX and years ago we stopped selling our other solutions so we could focus completely on 3CX. We want 3CX to continue to be the best voice product on the market. To do so, part of our job is to provide you and your team feedback from what we are seeing on the "front lines" that client's are asking for.

Doing well thanks. Hope you are too and if you are ever at Channel Partners (or similar) again, DM me and maybe we can do dinner (my treat).

Hi, see this screenshot how you will be able to configure SMS routed to an IVR and forward it to another ext or queue or ring group. Option is in bottom right hand corner and coming to update 6
