Hello,

On our NFR license, I am testing SMS sending with the operator Phenix (France).

I am encountering an issue: in the Chat tab, some users do have the “Send SMS” option, while others do not.
I have checked the user and administrator settings, but I cannot find why some users are able to send SMS and others are not.

Have you ever experienced this problem?

Best regards,
Alain

Your users will need to be in the queue you've assigned the sms to for the SMS menu to appear, and be in the same department / system wide availability.

How do I assign the SMS to a queue? I didn’t see any option for that.

SMS follows the DID assignment. If a user has no DID assigned, they can't send SMS - unless they're a member of a queue with a DID assigned.

Thank you for your feedback.

The issue is that my DID is linked to an IVR system which, based on the caller’s choices, routes the calls to the queues.
As a result, my queues do not have a DID directly assigned.

And the users don’t have a DID either.

There's an option place for how to route SMS when DID is in an IVR.

Thanks for the feedback.

I managed to get it working, but I had to create a new dedicated queue with all the users for the option to appear.
It’s a shame we still have to do this kind of workaround on 3CX…
A simple setting in the user profile to enable SMS would have been much easier, especially since my provider only allows sending SMS, not receiving them.

That's kinda of a strange setup though, most people want send and receive.

Within Europe at least, it's common to have send only SMS, to provide info to customers that are already known to you for example - yes, incoming exists, but it would not be the default.

Different habits I would say more than anything else.

Every day you learn something new....
