I just wanted to share how I managed to set up a Twilio trunk and add a Twilio SMS flow when the user chooses an option in my 3CX IVR.
First off: I set up the Twilio Trunk as follows (didn't do the python part)
https://www.twilio.com/blog/build-voip-system-twilio-3cx-python
I bought 2 Twilio toll-free numbers: 844 and 888.
844 is the main trunk and the 888 is to play around with their Studio flow. I did set up a very basic sms flow in there (very easy to use).
My problem is that once I connected an extension to the flow number 888 the SMS would try to be sent to the 888 number and not the original caller number (my cell phone in this case).
All I did was set up a digital receptionist that asks for the user input. I set 0 to call a bogus extension that would forward a call to my Twilio 888 flow number to hopefully trigger an SMS to my cell phone number.
I figured I had to pass the original caller ID somewhere in the 3CX Trunk settings. (Thanks to your amazing forum I was able to find this thread https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...caller-id-error-on-sip-provider-twilio.85401/)
All I changed in the outbound parameters page (SIP Trunk>Outbound Parameters), I changed the corresponding drop down for "Remote Party ID - Calling Party : User Part" to Originator Caller ID (I don't know why it works, I was trying everything I could to make it work
)
And it worked, after calling my 3CX IVR, I pressed 0, and was forwarded to my twilio flow number and it sent me a SMS directly to my cell phone.
Hope it helps you!
What I'd like to know is why this worked, what is "Remote Party ID - Calling ID" as it pertains to Twilio Flow? instead of seeing the 88 number it saw my cell phone number. I'm a newbie in 3CX and Twilio.
