Good morning,
I have a customer that would like to use their existing main compmany number to allow their field techs to text their cusotmers about deliveries and arrival times.
We alreaydyhave them setup to use SMS texting in 3CX as ring group. When I add the techs to to this ring group to allow them to send SMS messages in the 3CX App, any incoming text initiated by an outside caller/cusomter is going to all members of the group. department head and techs. I had turned off the Call Forwarding option for each tech extnesions so that they cannot "Recevie Ring Group Calls in the thier normal "Available, Lunch and Business Trip" modes. But incoming texts initiated from customers are going to all users of the group.
For example:
A customer sees a missed voice call from ACME Company. Instead of calling back, the customer sends a text message to the main company number which is assigned to a Digital Receptionist 6080 with FORWARD SMS being routed to RING GROUP 8000. RING GROUP 8000 contains ALL members of ACME Company. All users have "ACCEPT CALLS FROM RING GROUPS' turned off except two department heads that would route unsolicited text messages to the correct tech, so the customer's inbound text can betrsaferred to the tech responsible for that cusomter. However, This unsolicited inbound text from the customer is going to every member of the RING GROUP 8000 instead of just the deparment heads.
Am I missing something to allow this scenario?
Or, Is there another way to use a different rings group for the techs and still use the same main company phone number for the techs to send outbound arrival and delivery messages to customers, or do I need a seperate SMS phone number just for that tech group? and if so, Can the inbound messages sent to the Department heads still be transferred to one of the techs that are not in RING GROUP 8000?
