Hello,

Is it possible to view the SMTP logs directly on the PBX running Debian?

I'm using 3CX's SMTP servers, and two users aren't receiving any emails (test emails or forgotten passwords). Other users on the same domain are receiving them. If I change the user's email address to my own, I receive them. And there's no trace of the incoming email in the spam filter.

Perhaps 3CX is unable to send the email to the SMTP server, or the problem lies with the SMTP server itself?

Is it possible to get more information from the logs?

Thank you for your help.

@sanch6 as a first step the PBX must be in Verbose mode in order to check this.
If you are checking the Test Email from the Admin Console >> System >> Email >> TEST, or Forgot Password, then
you must check the Management Console logs of the PBX. ( ensure these emails are unique per extension ).
If you want to check for vmails or other schedules emails, you must check the System Service logs.
Now, since you are using 3cx SMTP, are the extensions with the emails created before the actual emails ?
Then they may be bounced if the PBX tries to send an email to an account that does not exist, yet.
Open a ticket, provide us with the emails and we can check this on our side.

Thanks for your answer!
I tried the Verbose mode but didn't find anything in activity logs or system logs. I think I looked in the wrong place.

Yes these extension were created before the mailboxes. Is this the problem ?

@sanch6 yes think about it, the PBX is trying to deliver something to a mailbox that does not exist ang error mesages
come back.
This can not happen forever as this is the definition of "spamming " :)
Open a ticket on our support portal and we will check if they are bounced.
Also for future reference, first create the emails and then add the emails to the extensions.
