I'm checking to see if 3CX keeps any sort of logs for sent emails? We're troubleshooting intermittent missed voicemail to email messages. On-prem physical 3CX install (Win 10 Pro 1903, 3CX Pro v16 SP3), and using Office 365 for email. We have a custom receive connector in Office 365 that allows unauthenticated SMTP relay from the static public IP of the 3CX box, and 3CX configured to use Office 365 as the custom SMTP server for sending emails.
The client is in the construction industry, and has a "call-in mailbox" where workers can call in & leave a message indicating they are not going to be coming to work - e.g. due to illness, etc. This is a VM only extension - no devices ever register with this extension. Voicemail for the extension is configured to email attachment & delete from inbox, with emails being sent to a distribution list at Office 365.
Call logs on the 3CX show a call comes in, gets answered by the IVR, transferred to the call-in extension, gets answered by voicemail for that extension, and there is approximately 30 seconds of talk time. Office 365 logs show no email received from anyone at this time (approximately 4am). Reviewing firewall and server logs, we can verify there was not an internet outage during this time, the internal network was operational, and there are no blocked/filtered outbound connections in the network firewall for this time period. All we can see is that there was a voicemail left that should have sent an email - but no inbound connection on the Office 365 side. Voicemails left for other mailboxes before and after were all delivered successfully. So I'm trying to fill in the gap to see if I can locate any SMTP / mail logs on the 3CX side to review the emails it sent out. It's worth noting that this isn't an isolated event - same behavior every so often. Sometimes the client can go a few months with no issues, then have 1-3 missed voicemails in one week. It's usually discovered when a foreman asks an employee why they didn't call in, only to have the employee say they did, so the call report is ran and sure enough - the call report shows the employee called in & left a VM, but the email was never delivered/received.
Thanks!
Chad
