I have SNOM 821's that upon initial provisioning they download the 3cx version of firmware (8.7.5.48) and operate normally.
But multiple times a day they will attempt to download new software which fails and eventually times out on the error 99, rebooting and working normally until the next time it tries. The file must exist on the PBX or it wouldn't update on the initial provisioning, I assume?? But for some reason it isn't finding any update or any file when it looks.
Is there a way stop this from happening or at least set it so it check for new, sees it is current and moves on?
In the config file I see this line:
<!--# Firmware and Logo path #-->
<firmware_status perm="">!http://192.168.1.24:5000/provisioning/a9sudos4cijfh/firmware/snom/$(phone_type).xml</firmware_status>

Edit: I did just find this setting in the phone UI and have changed to never update.. will see if that stops the multiple reboots.. But even so, seems like there would be something in the 3CX interface to make a global setting for all phones or phones by type.. something.. maybe I am missing it..
