We just bought a few Snom C520 as our new conferences phones after seeing they were still supported by 3CX. However I am unable to provision them through the 3CX Admin console like I can for our desk phones. The only way I have been able to provision them is manually through the phones web console. Is this phone no longer supported by 3CX? Has anyone else run into this issue?

Hi,

This is supported and has been confirmed to provision over PnP.

Please check the firmware first: https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/

Then clear any existing entries from the phones page (using the reject button), and factory reset the device.

If the PnP entry appears as "new" after you clear the entries and reset the phone then you should be able to provision it.

Note 1: This assumes you are on the same lan and IP range for both the PBX and the C520.
Note 2: The device comes with its on PoE injector and lan cables. Make sure you use what you got in the box from Snom!

I have used the PoE injector & lanc cables that came with the phone. Ialso have manually upgraded the firmware to the version 3CX recommends. I still have not been able to PnP the device. I am using the the provisioning method of SBC.

Just to confirm, when you factory reset the device, does it appear in the Phones page showing its IP "via SBC x.x.x.x" ?

See my example:
1688394283460.png
- Appears as New
- Phone IP x.x.x.x detected via SBC with IP x.x.x.x
- Addresses are shown as RFC1918 compliant ranges

No it does not appear on the Phones page at all when it is factory reset

Ah in this case multicast PnP does not seem to work in your network at the moment - this would require a more detailed investigation.

We would recommend you update to the latest U7 because this now supports RPS provisioning for SBC. Basically PnP is not needed, and the phone will provision via RPS and not have to rely on PnP if it is not available on your network for any reason.
