One of our clients has requested the mobile smartphones (meaning the 3CX softphone for iOS/Android) not to ring when they are in the office, because they have the Yealink IP phones. Is there such an option, assuming that both devices are registered with the same extension?

The only thing I can think about is to implement in the configuration of the softphones only the external URL instead of both the internal IP and the external hostname, hoping that when their smartphones are connected to the Wi-Fi network, they will not be registered. But if their network structure allows them to connect to their own public IP even from inside (which is happening because the web interface is also accessible from inside using the external hostname/URL), then that workaround will not work.

Any ideas?

Yes, this feature would be nice. Especially if it can be turned on or off for specific extension

Hi Andriy,

I suppose this feature doesn't exist now and there isn't any workaround of how that could be done, right?

This can be done easily on Android from different ways , simplest is to use a status not used elsewhere, for example available2, rename it NO PUSH.
Then in app click on green square on top right corner, edit modified status by unticking "enable push notifications"
Now for use just select no push status, done. phone is a phantom now ;)

As @aws2p said, in a little more detail:

If you look at your PBX Settings > General you will notice you have two additional statuses which can also be renamed if you wish to do so

I would use Available2 as a second status (perhaps name it "Available - No Push" or whatever suits you). Then simply go to my extension, select that status to edit it, and untick PUSH. By the way, user can edit their own statuses too and disable PUSH from there if they click the square status icon, and edit a specific status.

This makes it the same as the normal "Available" status with the difference that the mobile apps will not receive PUSH notifications to ring in case there is a call.

The user just needs to switch profile when they are in the office and they will no longer receive calls until they switch it back.

Hi aws2p!

Your solution described on the quoted frame below sounds great!

But would you be so kind to explain how that could be happened? We do have only iPhones and no Android device at all. Our client also! What you described is also possible to be done on an iOS 3CX softphone? If yes, where can you establish a new status?

Hi John!

Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I setup the new renamed status on my mobile, but when someone calls this extension, it goes directly to the voicemail. What I wanted is only the mobile not to ring. The IP phone I wanted to have the same status (available) and being able to ring.

Or maybe I haven’t correctly understand of how to do it.

Did you rename Available 2 sepcifically the one that was called Lunch?

Yes, I used “Lunch” for this function and renamed to “No push”.

Actually, I managed to make it work now. Previously I had my softphone also ringing, but I was keeping the screen of iPhone active and the 3CX App running in front of me. And of course, it was ringing simultaneously with the IP phone. Then I realized that “push” is causing the app to wake up, so I just locked the iPhone’s screen and left it aside. Then only the IP phone was ringing!

So, thanks to you all guys, that problem is also solved! What to say… thank you so much once again!
