Issue:
When using a softphone on a virtual machine, after a period of time, the softphone no longer receives an inbound calls. The softphone does not ring, checking the activity log on the PBX shows a “408 Request Timeout/INVITE” at the time of the inbound call
Our Set up:
We have two offices and a servers, including the server hosting, in a remote data center. Both offices have their own 100mb tunnel to the datacenter. The virtual machines are on a server in the data center. We have approx. six users on the server that are having the issue and several more not on virtual machines that do not have this issue. Some users have a desk phone connected to the same DID.
Details:
Using the softphone directly on pc’s in our office works without an issue.
We have tried using both the Bria softphone and the 3cx softphone.
We have tested using both gate ways for each office.
We have tested both with a desk phone and softphone at the same time, as well as with only a softphone.
We have tried turning on the Keep alive settings on the PBX, set to 30.
The issue seems to take longer to occur if the softphone is actively in use, indicating that this happens after the phone is idle for a period of time.
Any advice?
