Hi,

I am running 3CXPS v10 SP1.1
In the System Event and Windows Log I see a list of critical events occurring from 3CX Phone System and want to receive e-mails when the Phone System monitors new events, so I placed tags at “The status of a trunk changes”, “An IP has been blacklisted” and “A new service pack…”
The Email Address field is setup with my e-mail address.
The Mail Server tab is setup with correct setting, because I get voice-mail messages from the 3CX server.
But, I don’t receive mails when critical events occur. All that has happened is nothing.
Do I look over it and have I forget something?

Thank you.

Re: Monitoring the Phone System

Hello,

Are you sure everything in notifcations is setup correctly? did you apply it? Notifications work with no problems for me at all.
It seems like you set it up but didn't apply or the email for notifications isn't setup correctly. If you are getting emails for users no problem then it has to be a configuration issue for notifications.

Thanks,
Nate

Re: Monitoring the Phone System

Hi Nate,

Thank you for your reply

This is what I have done in 3CX server.
- Refilled Email Address field with my email address
- Enabled all Email notifications, press ten times “Apply” then “OK”
- Send myself a Welcome email to be sure e-mail is working correctly
- Change the status of a 3CXPhone (unregister/register)
- In the Server Event Log appears an Event ID 4101
- Wait for an email... nothing...

Any suggestions?

Re: Monitoring the Phone System

Just an idea -- try using another email for notifications (gmail, yahoo, etc.). I also had initially problems with sending email to the same SMTP server, now it's working fine with SP1.1 (e.g. [email protected] to [email protected]). SMTP server is my case is the same physical machine running the 3CX server (I'm using Win 2003 SBS). I've never had problems with users notifications (new extension registered, voicemails, etc.).

Regards,

Re: Monitoring the Phone System

Hi Orlin,

Your idea pushed me into the right direction.
I changed the email address for notifications and... again nothing happens.
So I start searching in the Mail Server tab.
Because I am using the SMTP Server from another mail provider I also setup the optional Username and Password to get things to work.
And it worked for voicemails, welcome emails, but not for notifications.
Now I setup the Mail Server field back to my own mail provider and everything works fine now.

Orlin, Nate, thank you for helping me out.
