Hi,

I'm trying to differentiate calls on Yealink T43Us from external calls coming through a ring group and internal extensions calling each other.

I can see the options in the phone provisioning for Default and Queue which I've got set as different ringtones but the external calls coming through the ring group and the internal calls are still using the same ringtone.

I downloaded the verbose syslog from one of the phones and can see an external call coming through the ring group gets an 'Alert-Info' of 'external' but internal calls don't seem to get any Alert-Info ?

Is there a way that I'm missing ? I've searched the forums and can see something about custom provision templates... is that the only way?

Thanks,

Hello,

The phones will work thusly when using default 3CX provisioning:

  1. IVR calls, Internal calls, and Internal Ring Group calls = Use same Ringtone (Change it under "Configure default ringtone")
  2. Queue Calls = Can have a distinct ringtone (Change it under "Configure Queue ringtone")
  3. Queue Calls (Per queue) = Can be assigned a different ringtone per specific queue (Go to Phones > Options and select "Use custom ringtones per queue" before editing your extensions)
  4. External calls to Extension or RG = They have a hardcoded distinctive ringtone you cannot change (Ring 2)
  5. Special menu calls = They have a hardcoded distinctive ringtone you cannot change (Ring 7)

Thanks for that. I had the default set to ring 2 and that's why it was the same. Changing default to another then has internals as the default (not ring 2) and external calls via the ring group as ring 2.
