Sorting Contact list by first name

Good Afternoon Everyone,

My client saying there their contact list is being sorted by last name.
Everywhere I have looked the contact list is being sorted by first name, and I also do not see the possibility to change this.

Has anyone else expierenced this and can explain how this happens or why, and how to change it?
Would be greatly appreciated!

In the advanced options go to Contacts, select options on the top of the page, select phonebook display
