Not sure what changed but since applying SP4 all 3 of my SPA525G2's are constantly "Refreshing Voice Component"
I removed the auto provisioning (http://PBXIPADDRESS:5481/provisioning/$MA.xml)
and they work as they did prior to SP4.

I'm also having this same issue.

My SPA525G is exhibiting the exact same behavior. I have witnessed it as frequently as every 20 seconds. It started only after SP4. Also, unlike coldtech, i am running IIS.

Just for fun I poked through the provisioning template and I did not see anything that looked likely to cause this.

Fortunately I only have 3 of these phones. If I had hundreds of them I'd be a bit annoyed :P

Anyone ever come up with a fix for this?

My fix was to manually provision them and set static IPs.

But as I said I only have 3 of these units so it was not a big deal.

Hi,

There is a fix for this actually, not a pretty one but there is. If you have your phones at the latest firwmare that as far as they are ever going to get, so there will be no future fixes on those devices. SO first make sure you are on the latest firmware.

So first off go and edit the template of those devices. Please note that changing the template could cause your phone to non function or worse.

Find the following lines:

Code:
    <!--########################################################-->
    <!--###       Firmware Upate Settings                   ###-->
    <!--########################################################-->

<Upgrade_Enable group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">Yes</Upgrade_Enable>
<Upgrade_Rule group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">http://%%pbx_ip%%:%%pbx_http_port%%/provisioning/firmware/%%firmware%%</Upgrade_Rule>
<Upgrade_Error_Retry_Delay group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">86400</Upgrade_Error_Retry_Delay>

Swap it all out with this:

Code:
 <!--########################################################-->
    <!--###       Firmware Upate Settings                   ###-->
    <!--########################################################-->

<Upgrade_Enable group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">NO</Upgrade_Enable>
<Upgrade_Rule group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">
<Upgrade_Error_Retry_Delay group="Provisioning/Firmware_Upgrade">86400</Upgrade_Error_Retry_Delay>

Once you have made this change, You must go to the phones sections select all the linksys phones and do reprovision. Once you have reprovisioned them unplug all phone and replug them so that they take the new settings.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

Is there something you know that we don't ?. Are Cisco going to make these end of life soon as well like the 525G (no '2' at the end).

Thanks.

baaah sorry guys i must have been half asleep when reading, the cisco 525g's wont be end of maintanence releases till april 6 2011, and the g2's have a long way to go. So first of sorry for the mix up, ill be editing my post up there to avoid future confusion!

Secondly your solution lies here :)

You will need to revert your previous changes.
