i migrating my clients to 3cx ,i built IVR menu . i having some issues .
i have 1 queue
1 ring group
and 2 extension

i need to put different sound files as "music on hold" .
on the queue i put the needed file and it works great.
now how to put the file on the ring group?
and how to put different file per extension?

or i have to create 3 more queues?
as i understand queue is very wasteful on concurrent calls count and ram .

is there any convenient way to do it without queue?

Ring Groups do not have their own Hold Music. They use the system Hold Music.

Queues use 1 license... Ring Groups, AFAIK, use 1 license.

so how can i make this scenario to work.

ivr menu

"for accounting press 4"

calle presses 4

pbx transfers to accounting extension and plays sound file "thank you for calling accounting blah blah blah"

Q is only option you have, for now no way to use custom MOH on RG nor EXT.

You could route the call to a second IVR that plays the desired message, then , as a default/timeout, routes to a ring group, or extension.

+1 - Should be able to have on-hold music per ring group or extension!
