Standalone DECT Phone without SBC or router phone

Good morning,

Anyone using a DECT phone without SBC or router phone? If so, which one and what's your experience?

I have a few clients that need only cordless phones at some locations but installing a router phone just adds unnecessary cost. Therefore, looking for a minimum solution.

We have about 30x AX83H's connected on our network via our SBC(Rasberry Pi 5) and are having a number of issues with them deregistering or dropping WiFi completely. They are VLANed to their own network. Sometimes they will deregister and stay connected to the WiFi, and will take a reboot to come back, and sometimes they appear to just completely drop off the WiFi, again a reboot fixes this, but until this point they just stay offline. This often occurs when they are just sitting in their charging cradle with good connectivity WiFi-wise (AP in the same room, full bars etc). Sometimes we...

I've found the connection on the Yealink AX83H 's to be very good, perfect in fact if you have decent Wi-Fi, however battery life is light years behind the DECT equivalent.

This is true, DECT is superior with regards to power management, and has a dedicated band. A SBC is also the superior choice.

If you cannot do the above, there is also the bigger brother, the AX86R which is ruggedized and equipped with a larger battery.

Agreed, a bit more pricey (and heavier) but a worthwhile upgrade for the battery life alone.
