Has anyone found the IVR configuration for 3CX StartUp? I don't see any way to externally dial an extension, am I missing something?
StartUP is aimed at smaller businesses that have simpler call flow needs. If you come from CUCM, yeah you'll want a dedicated license! Thanks @AndreasY_3CX, so I'm not missing it, it's just not quite there yet? This is my first test of 3CX and will probably be headed to Dedicated Pro licensing anyway. I'm more sys-admin than phone-admin, very excited to ditch Cisco Call Manager![]()

Hi KnottedCables,Thanks guys! I've been itching to try 3CX ever since NetworkChuck made his videos on it - I'm a sucker for a Pi project! The old IT Manager didn't like the non-cicso route, but as a small business, I say we leverage better SMB solutions!
Damn, thanks @ipt_dude! I've mostly just been IPT curious, touched CUCM a bit in my military days, but didn't manage a system until this BE6K setup I inherited. I see the power in it for sure, but I have 35 users, and most hate using a desk phone. The fact that you have confidence in 3CX for your environment reassures me that I'm headed down the right path!Hi KnottedCables,
I've been a Cisco engineer since the mid-90s - ( where on earth has the time gone! ) : )
My dogs name is Cisco and I've made a very good career out of Cisco technologies.
I've been in the IPT space with Cisco for some 15 years. I've managed enterprise CUCM environments for large organizations whose names I won't list but they include airlines, large banks and large healthcare organizations.
The current organization I work for has some 400 staff across 5 locations with about 15% working from home.
I am THRILLED to say we are about 90% threw with the migration from Cisco to 3cx. Our Cisco environment consists of CUCM v11.x, UCCX, CER, CIMP, CUC, Expressway , multiple UCS C Series servers, 4 different ISR routers acting as CUBES.The level of complexity and cost is beyond understanding and there is simply NO reason why an SMB and many small enterprises should run Cisco. We run a 96 simultaneous call Enterprise license and use CFD apps extensively for some 25 different departments and LOVE 3CX.
Good luck!
Founded in 2005, when VoIP was an emerging technology, 3CX has gone on to establish itself as a global leader in business communications.
