Hello,
I have setup an PBX in Canada and then I sent it to Iran for use. now that the pbx is in Iran it's not able to connect to STUN servers.
I'm not able to even open 3cx's website.
I want to know is there any fix or I should use VPN to bypass the block ?

Sounds like Internet accessibility there. No need to say that it's a difficult region of the world.

I suggest you open a ticket with 3CX for this issue.

If preventing the use of VoIP is what the ISPs have been instructed to do, then blocking the standard ports used by STUN is probably a part of that. I would just go with VPN. It is probably going to be the only way around this.

I don't see 3CX having any tricks up their sleeve to help you bypass this.

The fact that you can't even get to the 3CX site (if that is indeed the case), speaks volumes.

Really common in the Middle-east still, we have issues with even deploying SIP Trunking in places like Dubai - we are just sticking in Patton ISDN gateways instead.

I am keen to understand however why you shipped an on premise system I am not familiar with Iran specifically (and its restrictions) but if it were me I would of most likely hosted in the cloud and run a VPN to site for the endpoints.

A few years ago I was traveling through Iran, UAE and other “difficult” countries and never had issues to make and receive calls with my 3CX Client for iOS.
Now you are going to think you were using the tunnel, but I didn’t use it… plain VoIP protocol.
Only difference is I do no use the default ports.
So what I will recommend is to use other SIP and/or STUN ports.

hi @rubennazarian

If the system cannot reach the servers it will not function as intended. You will have to provide it with unrestricted access somehow. Also not that if the activation servers are not reachable it will also affect your ability to refresh the license.
