I am not able to setup GrandStream2170 located on remote network using STUN . I followed all the directions listed in this post https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/grandstream-gxp21-series. I also made sure that phone has a static IP, SIP and RTP ports are forwarded to the phone and MAC ID is correct in the settings. When phone is added, I do see "RPS request for GrandStream GPX-2170 IP Phone......... delivered successfully" but the phone never appears in the list of phone in my Admin console. I am using pro-version and it is hosted by 3CX and I am in need for some help or ideas on how to trouble shoot this. This is the first time I am having this type of issues and we have been using 3cx for 3 years.

Phone is on the latest version 1.0.11.35 but I never get to the screen in the step 8. When rebooted or factory reset, screen goes to a screen saver and stays there. Any other ideas?

Hello Peter,

When using STUN, it's not supposed to appear in your admin console like you expected.

Once the phone manages to connect to the internet it will prompt you for a username and password. Read this part here to see what you should expect.

You then need to enter the extension number, and the voicemail PIN on the phone screen and the phone now proceeds to configure itself.

If this is carried out successfully, then it will appear in the Phones page to show it has successfully registered.

I was not getting the prompt on my phone either, but I found the issue. It tuns out I had a rouge DNS server on the network that was interfering with the phone ability to resolve the registration URL. Once I disconnected that server, phone quickly displayed the prompt for the username/password and I completed the registration. This tread can be closed.
