Support of new Snom D735

just want to ask about a current ETA for support of the new Snom D735. It really looks awesome and we think about using this phone for our new upcoming 3CX installation.

Any news about support of the new D735 phone? We are ready to start the rollout of our new 3CX system but want to use the new snom phones.

I would also like to see support for the D735. While at it, the D717 is being released very soon. Two of my distributors are now taking pre-orders. Snom is marketing the D735 and D717 phones along with the D785 as a trio that is 3CX certified in order to offer a variety of similar looking and functioning models. It would be difficult to offer only one of the three phones during Snom's marketing push. I have attached the marketing brochure.

Any indication as to when these models will be added would be helpful for a 3CX partner like myself so I can plan on selling these to my customers?

I have not, but regardless, if the model isn't available in the 3CX management console for provisioning, it isn't going to be supported by 3CX.

If you have a firm grasp of networking and understand VoIP you really don't need 3CX support. Not to shy away from using 3CX supported pieces but you may as well ask 3CX then when v16 is going to come out. They pretty much rely on shock and awe for releases, even with partners so if you want to use the phone now, get them and expect that 3CX support will happen at some point. Or won't.

When I say supported I mean being able to provision the phones and users being able to perform adds and changes. I came from a world in which I had to make every single BLF change and create all the templates for every phone for every customer. The end users were not able to ever change the BLF's.

Custom templates is a thing as long as you like the color red . Long story short if you want fully supported just use the phones on the list and don't waste time asking 3CX when will because you won't get an answer. If you like the phones and really want to use them you are fairly safe investing in them now with the expectation that being fully supported is on the road map.

Just to follow up, the D735 is now listed as a supported device in the Snom wiki.

And the D717 also looks very nice, never heard about it and it is not listed in the Snom webpage.

but as was said earlier there's no d735 listed in the provisioning list so a custom/manual provision may be in order

how can we get around this? will a d745 provision work or will it risk pushing the wrong fw?

Even if 3CX did try to push the wrong firmware I'd hope the phone is smart enough to not flash it. Most devices will read the firmware to make sure it is correct for the model before trying to flash.

We managed to get this to work and it works just as well as the D785, the display is a little small though and looks busy, no idea where 3xc is going to put the logo

I just coipied the snom template and added the needed stuff, looks good so far. But yeah, it looks very busy

yeah we have it working with the d785 template also. Our main issue is that we can't reprovision on command and have to manually reboot the phone via url or by having the user manually unplug the network connection. Also you can't push any FW to the phone and can't click through to the phone's web interface and you cant reprovision or reboot through the 3cx phones screen either. We have to also remove & re-add the phone to the extension some times before the phone will pick it up. I think this causes the system to force update because it removes the phone completely & then sends new reprovisioning commands.
