Hello,

Do you support the modem T58w PRO ?

Thanks

If it is not on the list...

...then it is not yet officially supported.

That doesn't mean that you would not be able to get it to work, but there may be limitations.

Hi,

You should ask Yealink directly for clarifications:

- If Pro is just a kit that contains a normal T58W+Camera+Bluetooth handset, then it should be supported

- If the Pro is a new model entirely, then it is not supported

Hello,

We are having issues with testing the T58W as well. It shows it's a SIP-T58W for the model which is on the supported list. The phone registers, but does not show any Shared Parking, BLF's and won't ring on incoming calls. It is on the 150.86.0.8 supported firmware. All the other T58 phones we have don't have any issues. Any thoughts on why it would be doing this?

Thank you.

Sounds like you might have other issues in this case, is this a STUN phone?

Test it on a local 3CX server or use an SBC and let us know if the problem went away.

Factory reset it before provisioning on a V18 system to ensure that the correct parameters are loaded.

Hi John,

It's definitely a STUN issue. Below is what I've come across so far with it which is pretty interesting as it's only with the SIP-T58W model. I even tested with a T58W non-pro and same result. The T58 which we had previous, didn't run across any of these issues so it's only for the T58W.

We don't have a local system at all as everything is hosted int he cloud. So initially I tested with the SBC and all was fine.

Then started to troubleshoot the STUN issue:

1. Default template uses STUN port 5060 to the PBX. Phone registers but then won't show any of the presence information or allow incoming calls. Outbound calls are fine. No audio issues.
2. Use the default template to allow it to provision and grab it's config but then when you manually go into the phone interface, change the STUN to port to 3478, apply and then the phone is fully operational.
3. Created a test template and changed the STUN port on the template to 3478. Factory reset the phone and had it re-apply. Grabs the config but then the phone won't register at all. Manually go into the web interface, change STUN port to 5060, let it register and then change the port back and then all presence information and incoming calls work.
3. Created a test template and disabled STUN for the remote phone. Factory reset, it grabbed the config, registered and showed all presence information and allowed incoming calls. No audio issues whatsoever and it's acting as it should.

Something odd for this model for sure.

Hi Nate,

Changing the STUN port has no real effect, there are no services running on the destination 3478 of a 3CX system. Only on our SIP port will you find the STUN service running.

STUN can be tricky, you can easily be fooled that it works when it actually isn't, especially when some phones appear to work fine while others don't. SBC is the best solution to avoid all this, but in case you cannot use SBC then please read the below article.

Make ALL the necessary accommodations for your STUN phone, and it will begin to work reliably

Don't forget to reset and reprovision when you are done with the actions stated in the article, to make sure there are no leftover changes from your current troubleshooting attempts.

Hi John,

Completely agreed. Just wanted to show the troubleshooting as I still really think there's an issue with this model in particular. We've been using Yealink T4x and T5x series for many years with STUN and very little issues and never needed to have the direct port forwards or anything to make them work.

Port forwards are not needed to make them work - they are needed to make them work reliably
