I can find plenty of doco on moving from on prem to hosted. However I wish to move from the free cloud hosted to a paid on prem.
The free cloud product doesnt appear to have a backup option. Ideally I dont want to do a clean install as there is just enough configuring and remote phones to be a nuisance.

I cant find any instructions on this process.
(FYI This is not to do with the system chosen to link to this discussion)

Hello,

Can you please confirm what exact product you currently have, and which one you wish to move to?

Some sections of the configuration provide CSV export/import that can help limit the amount af manual config needed.

Customer Service might be able to offer further assistance: https://www.3cx.com/contact/

Version 20 Update 8 Build 1109 - FREE cloud hosted account. Limited features - the main limitation is the inablity to back it up!
Users has an export option but thats it

The SMB free indeed does not have many options, since it's a free shared offering. If you talk to the Customer Care team or your sales contact if you have one, they might be able to get some additional elements - but for the most part there is no direct path from that to a proper license without redoing most of the configuration.

That seems crazy - there should be a clear pathway so people could use the free product as a trial, or until they grow. I have two customers using free while they build their new office and want to transition slowly adding more handsets as staff come on board.

The features of the free are very limited to the paid version. Doesnt make any sence to use this as trial. Anyway, because of the limited features there should be no big problem to start from scratch with a paid version.

We do provide a Trial version of the PRO edition for this purpose, checking out the system in a fuller form, and even getting a small proper licence should not be a holdup for any business.

The SMB Free is meant for very simple installs, where recreating it should not take more than a few minutes. Copying the odd sequences of extensions and other constraints of the SMB option is not a sensible path to take.
