hi guys,
I have a problem and have no clue how to resolve it.
I installed an Elastix (2.3.0) in a 100 people company. I have a problem with the switchboard phone.
The "switchboard" phone handles multiple calls, but the person in charge of the switchboard can see incoming calls labelled as "lines". But cannot see the incoming call number with its "phone number" in front of the "line" button.
Thus this confusing for the person in charge of the Switchboard phone (we tried Yealink, Aastra, Digium d70 and Cisco phones).

For example: Let say I have 3 incoming calls

Situation occuring:
On the screen of the Switchboard phone, we will actually see:
  • Extension number (this is the label)
Extension number (this is the label)
Extension number (this is the label)
(and as you can imagine, it is difficult to take a line back when you can't remember who called you):

Situation needed
What would be great is to see. (below you can easily remember what number called you):
  • 0472146858
    0437373737
    6850

I called several people and they told me it is a well known Asterisk situation.
Do you know any phone that would resolve this situation ? :cheer: :cheer:
The person in charge of the switchboard does not want to use a software as a switchboard phone (like symphonie...)

Thank you for your help
sincerely

what about using the operator panel to view what is going on, if they don't want to use the full function of FOP it may give the details you want to see if they are willing to leave the panel open

easy enough to test if it will help by pulling it up on a computer while working to see what details are available

They might change their mind if they ever see all the details available in an operator panel.

The FOP panel can be managed to display only the details of interest.

If I understand you problem, the switchboard operator takes multiple calls and then can't remember which caller is either parked or on hold on which button.

Other than some kind of FOP2 solution, I don't know of any phone which will do what you are looking for.

Hi Busster8
Yes,that's the point...!
But the customer does not want to handle calls on his computer.
FOP is not the solution for this customer.
