System License Maintenance

My license is a perpetual License 8SC Pro. I have had this system for quite a while. I had Pre-Paid the maintenance for 10 years 9 years ago, as there was a discount offered when multiple years were purchased. Plus, At that time the maintenance cost was lower than the annual fee. Since I am now in the last year of when I pre-paid. I see that the maintenance fee is the same fee as an annual license. Is this true. Why would the cost be the same. Perpetual means kind of forever. So what is now the whole point of having a perpetual license is the maintenance fee is the exact same as an annual license. THe website even says there is a discount if purchase 5 or 10 years, but at check-in its not giving any discount. Seems that Perpetual Licenses are now devalued.

Because perpetual are useless for softwares like 3CX that stop working every 3-4 updates (because of the SSL changes and things like that.)

You're better off going annual, specially since it's the same price now. Going perpetual would just cost even more.

3CX has decided to raise the cost of maintenance to match

Perpetual means kind of forever.

3CX will say that you can run 3CX forever with a perpetual license. (You will just have to hope that you don't need to reactivate the software since activations will fail and 3CX will revert to free edition, you don't need to use webmeeting, 3CX FQDN, 3CX SMTP, use newer app versions, etc)

So what is now the whole point of having a perpetual license is the maintenance fee is the exact same as an annual license.

I can't point out any reasons why you would buy perpetual instead of annual at this time. Maybe a company policy to only buy perpetual?

3CX will say that you got your value out of the 10 year purchase you made. A new purchase may have a different value.
