Hello,

We have upgraded our 3CX system from v18 to v20. The installation is on-premise (Windows).
After the upgrade, the System Owner extension login is not working in the management GUI. We are unable to access the admin console using the System Owner credentials.

Details:

  • Version before upgrade: v18
  • Current version: v20
  • Deployment: On-Premise (Windows)
  • Issue: System Owner extension cannot log in after upgrade
  • Attempted: Tried logging in via Web Client and Admin Console, but login fails

What is the proper way to regain GUI/admin access in this case? Is there a method to reset or reassign the System Owner extension in v20?

Thanks in advance.

Did you confirm that the SO had a unique email address before upgrade?
Running forgot password should restore access.
There is no mgmt console in v20, its accessed via Desktop/web client.
You could try editing the XML File in your backup to a) give your SO a unique email b) makes sure SMTP server is set to 3CX

Not sure about the system owner extension login password. reset password also not working. Not receiving any mails.

Is there a PowerShell way to assign the System Owner extension in 3CX v20?

I had the same issue and it was resolved by going back into v18 and changing the owner extension name. Apparently the owner extension had the same as the root user.

If we going back into v18 downgrade, then the licencse will accept? coz its already upgraded to v 20

No, the licence is v20 only after upgrade. Did you check the login of the system owner before the upgrade?
