Hi Everyone
When our 3CX was originally installed the chap setup a template to show the HOT DESK key on the phone as follows...

{IF ua=SIP-T23P,SIP-T23G,SIP-T40G,SIP-T40P}
#Configure Line Key1
{IF blf1}
linekey.1.type = 34
linekey.1.label = Hot Desk
{ELSE}
linekey.1.type = 0
{ENDIF}
#Configure Line Key2
{IF blf2}
linekey.2.line = %%Line%%
linekey.2.value = %%type%%
linekey.2.pickup_value = %%PickupValue%%
linekey.2.type = %%DKtype%%
linekey.2.label = %%label%%
linekey.2.extension = %%PickupValue%%
{ELSE}
linekey.2.type = 0
{ENDIF}
#Configure Line Key3
{IF blf3}
linekey.3.line = %%Line%%
linekey.3.value = %%type%%
linekey.3.pickup_value = %%PickupValue%%
linekey.3.type = %%DKtype%%
linekey.3.label = %%label%%
linekey.3.extension = %%PickupValue%%
{ELSE}
linekey.3.type = 0
{ENDIF}
{ENDIF}

Since the update to version 16 it doesn't work anymore on the T23G. It still works fine on the T27G's we have though and it looks identical

Can anybody give me the required template please?

Thanks

Daren

Since you don't know how to make your own custom templates I'd recommend sticking with the 3CX supported configuration by factory resetting the phones and setting them up as described here:

https://www.3cx.com/docs/hot-desking/

Thanks Cobalt
I'd rather fix the line of the template though than try to re-educate 46 users/"stupid people" if possible.
The T27's work fine with this template so what's wrong with the T23 lines?
Thanks again

Hah... good point. That is a challenge in itself. I still recommend sticking with the 3CX supported method. How does the current button work? Like when they press the button what happens?

So on the T27's we have the BLF key as 'Hot Desk' which is set using the phone template file. Then it asks for their username which is obviously their extension then below that it needs their password. Thats it then then the phone is logged in as the correct extension.
I have tried your way to day but... 77xxx*# will be impossible for these Sales morons to remember and I'm still not getting the promised login key on the T23's.
If the login key could dial the 77 for them then ask for their extension and password it might be different but it looks like you need to enter the entire command for it to work.

Please tell me different?

Unfortunately I don't have either of those phones to test.They might be in storage but I wouldn't get my hands on them for another couple of months. The button shows on the T23's but just doesn't work correct? Have you compared the settings for the button in the web interface of the phones (T23 vs T27?)

This is the working T27G template line...

{IF ua=SIP-T27P,SIP-T27G,SIP-T52S,SIP-T53,SIP-T53W}
#Configure Line Key1
linekey.1.type = 34
linekey.1.label = Hot Desk
{ELSE}
linekey.1.type = 0
{ENDIF}

This is the failed T23G template line...

{IF ua=SIP-T23P,SIP-T23G,SIP-T40G,SIP-T40P}
#Configure Line Key1
linekey.1.type = 34
linekey.1.label = Hot Desk
{ELSE}
linekey.1.type = 0
{ENDIF}

I suspect it the T23G firmware as I'm sure I did the update to 3CX v16 then 3CX asked me to update all the phones firmware and it never worked after that.

I tried your correct method of hot desking on 3 phones and I expected a Login button to appear in BLF key 1 as per your instructions explained any other BLF keys will be moved down by 1

I don't get the Login BLF which I guess should be where my Hot Desk key according to the template above.

That's just defining the button it sounds like it's there, but not working. Do you see these parameters somewhere in the template:

Code:
hotdesking.dsskey_register_name_enable =0

hotdesking.dsskey_username_enable =1

hotdesking.dsskey_password_enable =1

hotdesking.dsskey_sip_server_enable =0

hotdesking.dsskey_outbound_enable = 0

Those define what happens when the button is pressed.

Yes, but the button isn't there to press

Oh.... Sorry I thought you said the button was there but not functioning.

Just a thought if you are comfortable with doing it (and take a backup first). Clone the template and then try changing the button definition from line1 to line3 in that new template and apply it to a test phone. Or you can also try downgrading one of the phones to confirm it's just the firmware. It's possible the firmware locked out line 1 and 2.

Hey Cobalt
Looking at the 3CX Product tree page on the Yealink site it looks like the T23G is no longer supported
https://www.yealink.com/products_48.html
I wish they hadn't produced a firmware that removed the features before discontinuing the model support.
Thanks for your help
I did try applying an older firmware but the phone seems to refuse it and just re-applies the latest 3CX approved version.

I just downgraded the firmware to 44.84.0.15 but still no Hot Desk button on BLF 1

If I do this, the HotDesk key comes back but I have to do each phone individually... Arrggghhh
