Teams Auto Idle = 3cx Away Status

Hi 3CX!

The Teams Auto Idle is a real show stopper for the presence sync.

I know it would be awsome if we could increase the idle Times for MS Teams, it would solve most Problems, but it seem to be that MS is not moving here.
From my point of view at least.

On the 3CX Side the big disadvantage is that you can not be direct called if you are away. You are reachable with ringroups and with queues thats fine. But a lot of customers are calling directly. Or internals calls too.

I could imagine a few solutions at the 3cx side like:

- simply do net set Auto idle to away
- create a checkbox (and function) to be ringable during away in the user Tab


Could you take action faster then MS ?

Customers of us which are now in V20 asking for the sync Feature but we tell them to not use it.

Thats the problem i already discussed with @nikolascx. Yes it need to be configurable.

Yes i know, but i need this feature as well and it is working just fine with the thirdparty tool.

I need auto idle on teams, but want to be still avaiable for calls on 3cx.

Hi Nic,
as far as i can tell there is not such option in Teams.
In the past you could extend your AutoIdle Timer in the Teams profile Settings ... but since the new Teams overtook - this is gone.

I just assume that you are maybe more flexible then MS .... by reacting to this issue ...

For Example:
Our Firstl LVL should always be able to pick up calls - you can go for a smoke for a few Minutes - you can talk to colleague - you can go rough a paper - does not matter.
Sometimes they are in Meetings or at the Customers site - then its fine if the call gets denied.

But they need to pick up if someone is calling.
So the AutoIdle from Teams put the 3CX Client to Away pretty fast.

For me it would be also fitting to have a checkbox that i can enable if i want to have the extension reachable - even tough it is on away.

Which workarounds could you assume ?

Again: A MS Idle time from 15 Minutes (or no autoidle by locking workstation) would be awesome.
But i doubt that MS is moving here fast...

The only way to do this is ATM is to disable the Presence Sync or to put a custom Status in Teams. But then its the same like disabling it.

OK thanks for the feedback we are going to look into this to make it better, we see it as a key feature, we will try and make the best solution we can with configuration options.

On that note, bringing M365 options to multi-user-edits would be awsome

Otherwise I would have to go through each of the 300 users manually once I enable the global Teams presence sync.

I have to mention that it would be cool to have more Values here.

The goal is for example:
lock computer and be reachable for external on mobile over 3cx

to get this working my mobile 3cx client must stay at available IMHO.

So we need to be able to set more then AWAYand DND at the "Teams to 3CX" Presence Control.

Can you make it possible to choose from all the options? Or at least more then now in Update 5 Alpha ?

Teams to 3cx Sync:
"In a Call" sync to "On a call"
would be nice to have.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming we are keen to improve this feature of course its limited to what's possible in the MS API but it seems a reasonable API and also no teams direct integration is necessary. But co existing with teams is certainly in our strategic direction

Hi all,
in a special szenario we have some Problems with the new sync:

User A is locking the workstation - (away sync from teams to 3cx disabled so he stil is available on 3cx)

But then User A gets a call from User B and after the call the Status from User A is stuck on DND in 3CX.
(till you change it manually or log back in to the workstation)

As i deactivate the "in a call" sync from 3CX to Teams it does not apear again.

So i assume that Teams is having some troubles with the 3cx "in a call" Status.
I would like to try to sync the 3CX "in a call" to Teams "DND" but the option is not available ->could you change this ?

Or do you have any other idea ?

Does somebody els face this issue?
