Terminal not working

Hi,
3CX 18.0 Update 1, Linux onsite server.
Host computer is Windows 10 Pro Enterprise.

In the 3CX managment console, clicking the Terminal button

opens a new tab in the browser (Google Chrome Version 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (64-bit)) with address,

The new tab shows a blank empty black window.

On the same computer, I can open a cmd console and use SSH to login to the 3CX server.
This is not a new problem. The terminal did work at one time. I have had the problem for over a year, but decided to ask for help today.

Why does 3CX terminal show a blank window?

Are you using a custom FQDN?
I'm not sure. I handle installing the phones, creating the extensions... I don't handle the external network settings.

Is your FQDN https://something.3cx.xxx:5001 ?
Judging from your screenshot though, your FQDN seems to be ending with ".com", and we don't issue certificates with "3cx.com", so I am 99.99% that your FQDN is a custom one.

Less likely, but I have seen people still do it, you have installed with a 3CX FQDN (e.g. something.3cx.us) but have create a CNAME on their own domain pointing to the 3CX FQDN. That still won't work.

Another thing I've seen is that some happen to have their 3CX installed behind the same IP as their e.g. website, and they use the Website FQDN with the 3CX HTTPS Port to access it.

None of this will work, you need to access your Management Console either using https://<3CX FQDN>:5001 or http://<IP Address>:5000, otherwise it's a no-go.
FYI, if accessing your 3CX over the internet, the HTTPS route is the only way.

My 3CX FQDN is something.ar.3cx.us. When I ping my 3CX FQDN, it resolves to an external IP address.

I don't know what a CNAME is. I'm not sure about 3CX behind the same IP...

I did not know about :5000. Terminal screen works when I login to http://<IP address>:5000. My browser (Chrome) does not warn me about insecure and ask me to accept risk and continue to website. I expect that http: is not the preferred way to access 3CX but I'm not a security threat to my own 3CX server.

More info unrelated. I have a NVR security system at home. I was having trouble accessing IP camera's web GUI when the camera was plugged into PoE port on the back of the NVR. To get to the camera you have to tunnel thru on a port provided by the NVR. Chrome would not work so I tried Firefox which works fine. So I thought to install Firefox on my work computer. I discovered that I can login to 3CX https://<IP address>:5001 and the Terminal button works.

My IT department manager has Chrome (same version as me) installed, is shown the insecure warning, clicks thru to 3CX login, can login into 3CX https:..:5001 and the Terminal screen works fine. I conclude there is something set in Chrome that is preventing Terminal to work.

Since http://...5000 and/or Firefox works then at some point in the future I will try to uninstall/reinstall Chrome to see if that fixes the problem.
