When trying to install 3CXPhone4.msi I just get an error:

"Installation Package could not be opened.
Contact Author to confirm that this is a valid installation package".

What to do ?

Using Windows XP Pro, SP3
Have Framework 3 installed (and updates ver 3.5 and 4 too)

have you tried downloading the msi again?
its possibly corrupted.

Yes, I have downloaded it several times !
Still same problem... :(

Hi,

Can you try installing an MSI from another company and see if that installs correctly on your machine?
You may possibly have some issues with some of your Windows Components.

Finally I got the right file, it should be about 10MB, mine was smaller.
So now its installed :)

But I have some questions about how to add the settings.

User ID and password is understandable.
But what should i add att "Extension" ?
And where should I add the sip server ?
Should I use 3CX Tunnel ?

Whats the difference between in and out at "my location" ?

If you are using a VoIP Provider with the VoIP Phone, enter your Phone Number in both the Extension Number and ID fields.
Only the use the 3CX Tunnel if you are using the VoIP Phone with the 3CX PBX.
You should add the SIP Server in the "I am in the office - local IP" or "I am out of the office - external IP" depending on what you are trying to connect to.

Are you using a VoIP Provider? Or a 3CX Extension / PBX?

Im using a VOIP Provider.
I got it working now :)
Thanks !!

Im curious about the 3CX PBX also.
How can it be used ?
Do I need a 24/7 PC to be running ?
How do I connect phones, do I need extra hardware ?
Can I use regular analog phones ?
