Been using 3CX (3CX hosted) for a couple of months now for a client. It is working great. Client with a half dozen IP phones (Yealink T46U).

During the workday, they want 3 of the phones to ring, so I have set them up with a ring group that just includes those 3 devices.

After hours, they'd like the ability for those same phones to ring (as they currently are), but would also like to be able to answer incoming calls on any of the non-ringing phones as well.

Can I do a ring group for after hours that rings the 3 "ringers" to ring, but also sends the calls to the 3 silent phones (no audible ring) so they could be answered on any of the 6 phones? It seems like the options for ring volume would be set on the local IP phone. But I want those "silent" phones to be able to receive forwarded calls during business hours (with an audible ring). Is there a way to make this strange sounding (to me) request work? I've already indicated that I wasn't aware of a way to set things up like this, but wanted to do my diligence and see if anyone here has an idea.

Hopefully I'm explaining this well. Any ideas?

Whether a set rings, or not, on an incoming call will be a function of the set itself.

An extension can do a call pickup (*20*), when another set is ringing.

You might consider putting the 3 additional sets into a separate ring group, that is the no answer destination for the first ring group (they will still ring). You can also have all 6 sets, in the second group as well, but if no one is picking up on the 3 "first" sets, then that would not appear to be necessary.

The no answer destination, of the ring group, could also be routed to a "dummy extension" with time based rules, as to where to then send the call.
