Hi, I am new to 3CX and am having trouble with transfering and the hold function. When someone rings on my analog number it goes through my Grandstream GXW4104 voip gateway to my Grandstream 2000 phone. when I put the call on hold then take them off hold I can here them but they can't here me and the transfer doesnt work. When someone rings in on my voip number through my voip provider the hold function works fine and I can transfer the call to another extension. I am using the free 3cx ver 3 Grandstream GXW4104 with the latest firmware 1.0.1.2 and 2 Grandstream 2000 phones with firmware 1.1.4.18. Can anyone help me please

Re: Transfer and hold problems

I have exactly the same problem, and I have exactly the same devices. When I try to transfer a call to another phone the problem comes up, after the transfer is made one party can listen but the other can't.I think the problem is the gateway because when you transfer internal calls there is no problem. I have some grandstream phones and they can transfer between them without problem.
So This is it. Please if anyone can help us...
Thanks.

Re: Transfer and hold problems

This is the problem I am encountering. I have a GXW4104 Gateway and some SPA-921 Linksys Phones. When I transfer a call, the other extension rings and can talk to the one transferring but no option to pick up the call and the call goes on hold and the only way we can talk to the caller is send it back to the original extension which got the call.

With regards to putting the caller on hold, there is no way to resume the call.

Is it with the phones am using or is it the software itself. am using the version 5 with the latest updates.

Can someone also give me a recommendation for a very good SIP Phone that's very compatible with the software with all or most of the common functionalities? I might have to try another set of phones if this is the SPA-921's that has a problem with this feature. But, since other people are also having problems with this feature with other setups, I can only assume that it's the system that's defective.

Oh, when I asked for a very good SIP phone, I meant also not an expensive one.

Re: Transfer and hold problems

Hi, Mal again
Thanks for your responses. I was beginning to think I was the only one with this problem. I'm starting to think that this problem can't be solved. I'm very interested in implementing this into a medical practice but if we can't solve this problem I'm afraid I won't be able use the system if we can't do a simple thing like transfer calls. The main line that comes into the surgery is an analog line so this must be able to be transferred to various extensions. Our ISP line that people ring in on can be transferred without a problem but if the analog phone can't be transferred I can't take this any further. Please can someone help?

Re: Transfer and hold problems

Hi guys,
I got an answer from the forum in spanish. He told me that the problem is that the 3.1 version cannot resolve if the phones are local or remote. Aparently the server started to send the RTP voice to the 0.0.0.0 host. So that's the problem. I just upgrade to the 5.0 version and done. No format required. And if you have a remote phone you can check the STUN setup.
Thanks...

Re: Transfer and hold problems

I have two analog lines in my gateway and anyone who calls any of those numbers and received by an extension, it can be forwarded to another extension but no way to complete the tranfer or no way to pick up the call from the extension where the call was transferred. I assume that calls from analog lines can be transferred to any extension, can someone tell me about this problem? Anyone who has an idea to make this work?

Gateway: Grandstream GXW4104
SIP Phones: Linksys SPA-921

Re: Transfer and hold problems

Hi Mal again, thanks for the info Calosar. I did upgrade to ver 5 3790 and I can transfer and put on hold successfully. Thank you for responding.
