I am switching off a third party system this week that integrates into a 30 year old telephone system, this system manages their voicemail as they dial 2030, enter their ID and password to listen to their voicemails etc. However I am trying to duplicate this on 3CX and it is very time consuming and I was wondering if there is a quicker way via a CFD or something?

I have currently made a DTMF Digital Receptionist that has an external number that I will reprogram on the Avaya switch so when 2030 is dialled it routes through to 3CX.

I have to add another 3000 records... please can someone suggest a better way/quicker way?

Why do that? *4<ext> goes to the voicemail. Otherwise, for external access, use the 9999 extension. If not dialed from an extension, it will ask for the ext and PIN.

I have the 9999 as operator, but when I dial the DDI it just asks to leave a voicemail and if I disable the voicemail it says "voicemail disabled for this extension" and hangs up. How do I make it ask for the ext and PIN?

Thanks

What did you configure? You cannot set 9999 as operator unless you changed the voicemail extension.

What is your goal?

Voicemail extension is 5555 by default.

Basically I want a DDI number that I set as the CFNA on the Avaya system which will route to the 3CX and it will ask "Please enter extension number you wish to leave the voicemail for"... end user enters in 3024 for example and will be greeted by their voicemail greeting, leaves a voicemail and they get an email from 3CX, etc.

I then need another DDI number for staff to dial to listen to their voicemails, and it will ask for ext and 3CX PIN, etc. (got this one working)

I understand the MWI indicator will not work on the Avaya CS1000 after this change.

Hope that makes sense? I have the second requirement working via a CFD as I made it route to the default 5555 extension via a transfer module.

I would bypass the Avaya system completely, or don't use 3CX.

Getting that kind of thing to work will be almost impossible without using 3CX fully.

That is the plan eventually...

I have it working on the Digital Receptionist, but it is just a lot of work lol. I was wondering if it is possible via a custom CFD taking the value the user inputs and adding a *4 in front of it maybe?

You can try it. Using CFD, take the UserInput (or authentication component) and then make a transfer to that "*4 + value" (make sure *4 is actually the right code, Settings > Dial Codes)
