Transferring license to new FQDN?

I have an existing license that I paid for until sometime in 2024 for (abc.3cx.com) that I want to transfer to xyz.3cx.com which has an expired license.

Is this possible? I already released the abc.3cx.com FQDN but when I try to renew the license on the xyz install I get "There is an Unknown error. Please contact 3CX Support."

On the License Settings page I also see "license_error.HttpsErr_InvalidTrustedStorage"

@pmcleanglx do I understand correctly that you are trying to move the FQDN via replace key option in the license settings of the system that has the expired subscription?

In this case, you would need to disconnect that FQDN from the expired subscription (xyz) as well. Please note, that once 3CX FQDN is disconnected from subscription license key, it is not guaranteed that it will be available. To check availability before disconnecting, you can contact our customer service team via our website live chat or contact form.

After you disconnect the required FQDN, you can then make a new installation using the paid subscription (abc) and choose that FQDN for new installation.

To move settings over, you can use backup without included license key and FQDN after system installation.

If the license already expired I think you need to open a ticket with 3CX if you can’t update. Or install and restore from backup. If you search the error here there are other suggestions, but 3CX normally advises against installing updates via command line.

Hi, good day! Did you install a new 3CX system for xyz.3cx.com? We have a similar scenario. I transferred the license from abc.3cx.com to xyz.3cx.com. The license for xyz.3cx.com has expired, but the license for abc.3cx.com has an active subscription. When I reboot the server, the xyz.3cx.com web console is not accessible.
