As far as I know, call transfer between PBXes/providers are not possible. Let me explain
- if you have two accounts, 100@malta and 200@cyprus, calls cannot be transferred between these two.
- however, if malta PBX is bridged to cyprus PBX, the cyprus one being accessible through outbound rule say 9, a call on 100@malta can be transferred to 9200@cyprus.

Then what is the best solution to use if we wanted to have such capabilities to tranfer calls between PBX or providers?

Bridge the pbx's

This works. The only thing that doesnt currently work is to drag and drop transfers between 2 pbx's in the call assistant.

We have a bridge set up with our customers and our pbx. You set one side as the master (ours in our case) and the other side as a slave (the customer's in our case) and they are now bridged (ie. they register with each other). We then set up an outbound rule (for example I have a customer with 4 digit extensions - so i have a rule with a prefix of 2 and the number length = 5 to go via the bridge to them and strip the first digit). I can then transfer a call to them by prefixing the number with the 2 (eg 21000 will transfer it to their ext 1000).

What I cannot do yet (Even with the beta) is drag that call over to their pbx in the assistant and drop it onto ext 1000). But we are making progress with 3cx to get there soon.

Hi, the beta only works if you have ONLY Calls to Number with Prefix set to any number.

Remove :
1. Remove Calls from Ext -
2. Remove Calls to Number with a length of -
3. Set Strip Digit according to Prefix

And try making calls and transfers to bridge using drag and drop. This will work....
Thanks and Regards

This is not a practical work around. We need to use the "number with a length" option as some local numbers start with the same number as the bridge, we also need to use the calls from ext option to block certain types of calls from certain ranges of extentions.

Until this is fixed correctly we can ignore the feature.

What we cannot ignore are the major problems with the forwarding rules. I have passed backups to Leonidas, who hinted that this was a bug, but I have heard nothing for a week.

At present the following does not work:
1.) Forwards to mobiles
2.) Forwards to external numbers
3.) Forwards across the bridges (this is treated lie a forward to external)

All of these worked with V8, and I need to get this resolved ASAP.

If this is due to the way the outbound rules have been implemented for V9, and they need mofifying, then fine, but as it all worked for V8, then I do not know what to change.

Please help!

We are using v9 sp2 and I can confirm the following works for us

1. forward to mobile
2. forward to external number
3. forward over a bridge (forward to external with the bridge prefix and other ext - e.g. 2100)

If you can make the call from the extension in question then the forwarding rules will work.

But we have had some customers confused with the new forwarding rules and we also had 2 customers whos forwarding rules could not be migrated (3cx gave us a log of which ones so we could manually fix it up).

Beware that there are rules for internal and external calls, that there are 5 different statuses for an extension and a DND and these can be set via the phone or the assistant.

The drag and drop feature that this thread is about is still in beta, but the 3cx forwarding (your other post) is working correctly.

Are you able to set up a dummy extension with new rules to test? This would rule out a migration problem when you upgraded your old rules from v8.

We found that with dialing rules as stated above you can go to assistent and right click on the call and transfer to four digit extension. Would like to use the drag and drop but this really is working great after showing our users.

I have just updated to SP3 and the latest version of the assistant.

My first test was to see if the drag and drop between two pbx's in the assistant now works, but no it still does not. The release notes state...

"Transfer of calls from 1 PBX (connection) to another PBX (connection2)"

I assume that this is for transferring by right click and enter extension and not the drag and drop feature?

Any idea when this will work?

Hi, this works perfectly. You need to configure properly your outbound rules and assistant dial plan.
Transferring by right click and enter extension and drag and drop feature works!!

Strip digit is important - you cant leave strip digit set to 0.
This will not work.
You need to strip the outbound rule so the call assistant can transfer calls from 1 connection to another.

We are planning to improve this - but for now this is how it is works.
Thanks
