Transition from on-prem Pro to 4SC Basic Free on-prem installation

Is there a way to downgrade from PRO to the 4sc basic free edition for on-prem installation? I just need a very basic on-prem installation for our test bench. I downloaded the Pro version over a month because that was thinly one that was available for on-prem installation. Now that it has been more than 30 days the installation is expired and the only option I have is to downgrade to the 3cx basic option for $300 a year. Like I mentioned I just need an instance for testing purposes. This installation doers not even have to make outbound calls, just need to have an instance going to test networking configuration and to see if IP phones will communicate back to the server. I would rather not have to go through the entire process of creating a new user and such, but if that's the only option then o be it. I just need to know the easiest way to get a "free" version on the software that can be installed on-prem. Thank you for your time, help and suggestions.

The free basic doesnt work with ip phones. Anyway, go to your customer portal and get a free basic key.

To clarify getting a free basic key from scratch is not possible yet.

Currently the only way is to downgrade an existing 4SC key on renewal to the Basic edition.

@Trey There is no more free on premises version since a couple years ago, give or take. You can get a trial key or use the 3CX hosted free version.

How do I get a "trial key"? Go through the same process I did before to get an on-prem instance? Like create an account and go through the entire "setup process" from scratch. Thanks for the info

Right. I don't know if they limit the number of trial keys...obviously the intent is one purchases a license to continue using it.

And sorry just to clarify, post coffee, I meant a more fully featured free version. https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/free-edition/ was reintroduced a couple weeks ago but as not compatible with hardware phones, as noted above.

Yes, and that wont work with the free edition.
