Trying to playback audio to an extension

I am extremely new to CFD but I need to see if its possible to play back a wav audio file to an extension. If so, how?

You can.

You can either dial the extension with a dialer and a schedule (the dialer just need a "should I call" property).

Or you can assign an extension number to the CFD app (V16 U6 required) and then dial that extension from another.

Use the Play Prompt component for that.

So we already have an existing extension that is tied to our PA system. We want to be able to dial that extension to play the audio file over the PA system. How would that look in the CFD app?

Let me see if I get this straight... You want to make a call from a normal extension, and with this call trigger a prompt playback to a paging device?

In that case, you can do it as follows:
1) Let's assume that your paging device is on extension 300.
2) You create a Digital Receptionist, and configure it with the prompt to play. Let's say on extension 800.
3) You create a CFD app and assign an extension to it. Let's say extension 801. This CFD app will have a single Make Call component inside, configured as follows:
- Origin = "300" (the paging device extension)
- Destination = "800" (the Digital Receptionist extension)

Then, you call from your extension to the CFD app (extension 801), and this will automatically start a call between the paging device and the Digital Receptionist.
