I was following the 3cx documentation to setup 3cx with a Twilio SIP trunk https://www.3cx.com/docs/sip-trunk/twilio/ and when I got to the part about adding the SIP trunk from the 3cx side, Twilio was unavailable. I found some things online regarding using the worldwide selection for country, but I could not find any such listing in the country section. When I look at the supported SIP providers, it does not show Twilio, but 3CX has the previously mentioned link explaining the ability to use Twilio as a SIP trunk provider. I have already signed up with Twilio based on the 3CX documentation and I would like to use them as the SIP trunk provider. How can I configure 3CX hosted to use Twilio as the SIP trunk provider? Thank you.

Hello @kweber

Thank you for posting in our Community Forums.

Kindly note that as per our SIP Trunk page, Worldwide SIP trunks may only be used with 3CX Hosted and Self-hosted on dedicated servers. It is not compatible with StartUP.

You would need to add a new system and install a dedicated 3CX Hosted system in order to use Twilio as your SIP Trunk.

Kind Regards,
Monika

Thank you for the quick response Monika. So I would need to select a non-free system to use Twilio as my SIP trunk. I will give that a try. Thank you.

You are most welcome.

Yes, that is correct, however, You can trial the dedicated instance free of charge for 2 months, and afterwards, a conversion into a commercial paid key will be required.

Kind Regards,
Monika

hi, Monika, i believe these description have to be adjusted, they can mislead clients to take wrong decisions in their setup can cause frustration; unless im still not understanding correctly we cannot use a trunk thats not from an approved vendor. I did not find any field to enter host information in the free version...
