Hi, I have a situation where 3CX v16.4 is behind two Cisco firewalls where I don't have any control over.

I was advised that all of the required firewall ports/NATing are in place and correct. However, 3CX Firewall Checker is failing. I am told that one of the firewalls is used only for routing.

Does anyone have any advise on this configuration with two firewalls?

Thanks,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,

I can' really give you specific advice about configuring the Firewall, but it sounds like they won't let you touch it in any case.

In most cases I usually found it best to show the other side what I need with data VS what is currently happening. Then they either fix it, or they decide to let me have a go at it...

In the following link there is a detailed explanation what the Firewall Checker does.
https://www.3cx.com/docs/firewall-checker/

Open the Management Console in 2 tabs:
- In the one go to Dashboard --> Activity Log
- In the second, go to Dashboard --> Firewall
Now Start capturing in the first tab, then in the second start the Checker.

One it finishes, stop the capture and download it, then open it in Wireshark, then read the guide to try and determine the differences. That should point you in the right direction.

If it's too complicated to find a quick solution, perhaps a 3CX cloud with an SBC on phone site could help?
Or eventually a dedicated internet link for VOIP , out of Cisco router/firewall management .

Good morning,

Thank you both for your input.

I have considered an SBC as an option.

Thanks again.
