Good afternoon,

We have a third party supporting our 3CX application. We have a user that requires two telephone numbers, though the third party supporting the application is not able to get this to work, stating that the configuration file that sits in the user's profile only allows one number to call inbound/outbound.

Please can it be confirmed if this is/is not possible and if yes then some pointers on how this is best achieved.

Many Thanks

RB

3CX Application you mean webclient/ 3CX app? Or have they built something else?

3CX is capable of receiving multiple DIDs and where you route them is up to you.

This means an extension can receive calls from multiple numbers if programmed to do so.

Now, outbound is trickier as there is no function at the moment to natively change caller ID.

The work around is to have multiple SIP Trunks with their caller IDs set to whatever, then create an outbound rule with different prefixes so that calls out use these trunks.

(eg. prefix 881 -> SIP1 > Outbound number 1 | prefix 882 -> SIP2 > outbound number 2)

Alternatively, you could have 2 different ext in 2 seperate chrome tabs and go down that route.
