Had a situation where I built out a 3CX appliance for deployment and all went well. Mocked up the LAN and provided Internet access for the setup, used the Dynamic IP since I knew that would change.
When I moved on-site - the Managemnet console was un-usable. Would show loading for about 20 seconds, then prompt for a login - but that would fail with"server error". Returned to my office - plugged in system and was just fine.
Unfortunately had to work with 3rd party on firewall - Sonicwall - so not access to do usual troubleshooting.
Support helped me and was able to determine that the system could not access the activation site.
We could putty in to it just fine. Able to tell in log what was happening.
Waiting for firewall people to add policy as well.
Tech support was great as they always have been for the rare times we have needed them.
I would say that 3CX should do something better to let you know this is happening. What if there was some kind of Internet disturbance where access to activation was not present?
Sure depending on the situation - SIP might also be down - but lots of times that not being able to access the console for basic troubleshooting should still work.
