Solved Unable download 3CX Windows App v18

Hello,

I have a problem with downloading the Windows client.

When I click the download (https://*mydomain*:5001/webclient/api/app/windows) link in the web client, I get a 404 error and browser trying to download the windows.txt file.
We have 3CX version 18 Update 2 from 3CX Linux ISO installed.

This is strange, I am not aware of any windows.txt file being included in the installation.

Does this file actually download? If it does, right-click on it and select Edit, what is it's content?

Also do you have any AV software installed on your PC that could be blocking the download of this file?

Hi Nick,

this file is not downloading, I think it is the browser trying to download the response from the web-host.
I use Bitdefender AV, but it doesn't report anything.

I tried to use wget on linux to call this link and got the answer:

HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found

where should the installation file be located on the 3cx server?

For reference, although I'm not sure how this came to be, the fix was to:

1. Search for Parameter: ELECTRON_WIN_VERSION
2. Change the value to: 18.1.0
3. Go to Dashboard --> Updates
4. Find the "3CX Apps" update and download it
