Unable to assign BLF keys to a V16 Laptop

Hey Guys

Probably answered before but I searched everywhere to no avail !
V16.07.1074 3CX
2 softphones running one on a local pcv and the other on a laptop
V16.3.0.111 Client on the laptop

On the laptop when I right click on the blf key it does nothing
In 3CX I programmed in 5 BLF buttons but they do not show up on the Laptop softphone .

My Reception phone is

V16.3.0.198 on the local pc softphone and it works fine

Any ideas why I cannot assign the blf keys to the laptop - Should V16.3.0.111 make a difference ?

While researching this, came across a post back in May:

Craig mentions that version V16.3.0.111 was around during v16.5 of the PBX.
Probably why the V16.3.0.198 works OK.
Update the older one and let us know.

Meanwhile, I am going to test the new beta v16.7 and see what happens with my version of soft phone v16.3.0.179.

Update: I too updated one of my test vm to 7.1704 and also updated the 3CX app. I got the same issue as you did.

I needed to switch my Windows app over to my office 3CX instance, fortunately the .198 app talks to our production 6.655 PBX just fine; I am able to right click and edit the BLF (whew!).

Going to say that this needs to be addressed by support before release.

Interesting as my Reception- Windows 10 Pro PC tel is softphone .198 but I can only find .179 via the website

This is what I downloaded last night via the web .
Not sure if I can download via the softphone as I cannot find any way to perform this action .

My Recept tel ext 100 actually went out and downloaded automatically after I upgraded to the latest beta V16.07.1074

After the upgrade a few days ago , Yesterday I powered up my laptop and ran the softphone app . But it never upgraded either as I tried to set the blf buttons . I went out to the 3XC website and downloaded the latest code off the website

So not sure how to update the laptop to .198 and is this Beta Software ? Seems it should be readily available for download as well / where is it for upgraded sites ?

I'll go over to support and open a ticket with them and make them aware of it

Update : being an affiliate as that will change soon , I cannot open a ticket in support . I also am unbale to update my laptop to .198 so I need to figure that out as well .

When the PBX updates, it should contain the latest 3CX app as a download. You can verify if this is the case by going to the updates of the PBX and seeing if there is a 3CX App for windows available.

Once this is downloaded to the PBX, all apps which provision/register to the PBX will show an update, which the user will need to apply.

Also, I would urge you to check if the Windows updates are done for the laptop, as the .net updates are very important as well, for the correct functioning of the app.

Also, check if there is any antivirus programs which may be blocking the communications between the apps and the PBX, as some of these are notorious for blocking the traffic.

Thx for the response

Yea I was expecting that behavior but it did not work on the laptop now that I understand what the issue is .

Whats interesting is that one PC running windows 10 Pro 1909 updated with no issues .
I just checked the laptop and it is now installing 1909 as I just started the process .

There is also a new Windows available update ( on top of 1909 ) named : Feature Update to Windows 10 , version 20H2 that it wants to install now also . So my Win 10 Pro machines and my laptop will be updated . More work ..

I'll update this thread when it completes updating .

Hey Guys

So I updated my laptop to the latest windows 10.0.19041
Still unable to right click and add in a BLF description/key
Also when I click on the select status icon / key , It hides behind the back border and I am unable to see the selections . This was noticed this am but not mentioned !
Still on 179 as It will not upgrade to 198
Any idea on how to upgrade manually ?

On my last upgrade to the latest windows , Since 1 PM yesterday ..
Downloaded the last of the upgrades and it is now running 19041 with all of the latest updates ..
I just noticed when I checked the version that it is running Windows 10 home version as I upgraded to Pro a while back . I'll have to look into this and find the license key code and upgrade to pro again as the softphone worked flawlessly up until about a week or 2 ago . Not sure what occurred as when I upgraded it seems to have diverted back to home but still the same issue , no blf function , no status window as it remains blocked behind the black border below the status icon .

So Windows is all upgraded to Pro etc. . Still no BLF keys nor can I pull down the status window as it MUST be the code . .179 not able to work with beta 3CX ? Still unable to get a download via 3CX as 1 pc's softphone is running .198 and the last one won't upgrade / update . Stuck ...

Note update : Shut off Anti Virus software and no difference . still will not upgrade to .198

If you have root access to your pbx you schould find the 3cx client here:
/var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Interface/MyPhone

Thx Marcel as I have never used ssh and cannot find any docs to help . port 22 refused when I attempt to ssh in .
