unable to configure mail server settings with gmail

I am unable to configure mail server settings with gmail it prompts me an error as shown in attachment
when tried with other mail servers also same issue please let me know how can i resolve it.

The subject has come up a number of times, with various opinions as to whether it will work. Have a look through some of these past posts. A couple mention that they got it working, one talks about it being blocked after a while.

Google blocks the account after a while, saying it violates some Google rules.
