I have installed 3CX 18.0 on on-prem hyperV-VM, trying to activate customer trial installation, however, i have not installed using the configuration file / url generated on 3CX portal, instead, i have chosen to configure manually (a legacy option), as i wanted to change http & https port, which is not an option if i select URL / Upload configuration file.

After installation, i am unable to active the 3CX license it gives me the message "Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server. Confirm that your Primary DNS Server is able to resolve activate.3cx.com"

Troubleshooting Done:
1. Confirmed i can resolve to activate.3cx.com from the 3CX machine
2. Tried changing 3CX DNS servers

What build is it, 18 update 8B or later?

You need to be at least under v18.0 Update 8 (Build 939) in order to activate, what is your version?

I am using V18.0 Update 9 (Build 20)...

Have you also set as primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and test?

yes i did…

This might require further investigation, i would suggest to create a support ticket and proceed from there.

Check your firewall isnt being restrictive.

Any resolution to this?

I am experiencing the same issue, I am running version 18 build 20. I have set my DNS servers to be 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I can ping activate.3cx.com from my 3CX server.

Try to check and ensure that all the fields in the license information are there (License >> edit), and then click OK

Yeah all the information is in there. The weird thing is that it works sometimes just not all of the time

Is there any DPI on your firewall?

So if you run the capture, are you able to see your 3CX system communication with activation.3cx.com
There you should see a DNS request and then TCP + TLS communication with the ERP on port 443. Do you see that, is there any error?

Not sure what you mean by capture. Do you mean like with Wire Shark?
