Whenever I try to check updates I immediately get "Unable to reach 3CX Updates server. Check your internet connection and try again."
There is no internet issue with the computer. It can get refreshed activation without issues.
Maybe the server is down?

Hi maiten

You are probably blocking the traffic to that destination. Activation is separate from downloads so it will not help troubleshooting this specific issue.

Your specific region's download server can be seen in the parameter DOWNLOADS_URL and that url must be accessible to your PBX

3CX Version: Professional Perpetual 16.0.676
Server OS: Windows Server 10

Thank you for pointing out where to find the update URL.
There is no issue opening that page on the server.

are you running any aditional services on the machine itself including any antivirus or firewall?

Built in antivirus (Windows 10) and the firewall is disabled.

What about your firewall in front of the PBX? Or geo-ip blocking?

In the message #5 I posted a screenshot that shows that in the same machine the 3CX software is running, Google Chrome opens the download site. It might have been overlooked and I was not clear enough. Sorry.

And yes, there is a firewall, but the IP of 3CX is excepted from transparent proxy and application control (the things that can cause problems). It is how it worked until today.

Is there any log I could check where I can track what is happening?

Have you made any changes to the default templates or provisioning files?

If something has been modified that the system cannot resolve during the updates check, it may generate this error. There is no log for the specific file that may be causing it

Yes, we have custom templates for our phones, but until now that was never a problem.

In any case, today the update is working so it should have been something on the 3CX platform as there was no change in ours.

There was no recorded outage, I was able to update my system successfully using the same server so difficult to say what the reason was. Regardless I'm glad to hear it worked out.
