i am unable to receive any inbound calls but outbound calls are working fine. i have SIP configured with Dataphone service provider. no log entries are appearing for inbound calls.

Hi @altsourced

Since no calls are appearing on your system then the calls are probably not sent to your IP. Did you add the Dataphone trunk using the included template?
Is your trunk registered in the PBX?

Also did you get new numbers with your SIP Trunk or did you port any numbers from a different provider? Some times number ports take some time to become active so inbound calls are not reaching you.

Make sure you pass the firewall checker to eliminate the possibility the firewall is blocking inbound traffic.

1. the Trunk is setup is setup and registered just fine.
2. This was a new number
3. Yes, i used the template included in the setup
all checks on the firewall passed

If everything checks out and the call is not reaching the PBX or your firewall then the next step is to speak with the provider and ask where your calls are going.
The only other thing i can think off is a misconfiguration in the providers portal.

i als only changed transport type from "Any" to "TCP"

that is WHat i suspect as well. the provider seems not to have managed to configure this although, inbound calls from the provider to me are working but calls from my location (different country) are not reaching me despite using 3 different telephone providers to call the said number. perhaps you too coud try and dial 0027288800033 to ascertain whether ornot i will receive the call.
another piece of information:
hHen dialed from my end, the call is being routed elsewhere and someone else is actually picking up the phone but cannot understand what theyre saying. at times its voice mail prompt in portuguese and at times someone actually picks up

The numbers you were assigned may have belonged to someone else (even another provider) in the past. There may be a porting issue, or, call forwarding may still be active. If your provider is able to call you, originating on their network, but callers outside of their network cannot, then it sounds like a porting issue. It would also indicate that it is not a 3CX issue.

Since you are paying your provider for these numbers, and they are not working from outside their network, then your provider should be the one to track down the problem, and fix this.
